Bill O’Toole (CHPC)

COBRA Head Coach, National Group

Bill has over 20 years of coaching experience including 15 years at COBRA. Bill started swimming at the age of 4 and continued to the Canadian National Level including representing Canada at several international competitions.

Bill has consistently placed athletes on Olympic Team, World Championships, Pan Pacific Games, Commonwealth Games, National Youth and Junior Teams. Bill has also produced Medalists / Finalists at World Championships, Commonwealth Games, Pan Pacific Games, Canada Games and all Provincial Championships since 1984. 

Bill’s other accomplishments include: Olympic Team Personal Coach 2000, 2007 Swim Ontario Coach of the Year, Canadian National Team Coach 1992-2004, produced 63 Canadian Records to date, produced 86 Provincial Records to date, Petro Canada Coaching Excellence Award 2000, 1999 SWAD Coach of the Year Swim Canada, Swim Ontario Coach of the Year 1997, NCCP Level 3, CSCTA Member.


Kim Inglis-Clarke

Operations Manager

Kim brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her management position. Her vast experience is based in coaching. She has NCCP 3 certification and is currently pursuing her officiating credentials. She started coaching in 1991 for the North Bay Y Titans. She continued her coaching career for Laurentian University Swim Club where she apprenticed under Dr. Jeno Tihanyi and other talented head coaches. After graduating with honors in Health & Physical Education in 1998 she became the Head Coach for the Valley East Waves.

In 2000 she joined the COBRA Swim Club where she held numerous coaching positions & was essential in the development of COBRA’s Junior Swim Club & Board of Education programs in Brampton. Her coaching successes include numerous Provincial medalists & finalists; provincial tour teams and record holders. This experience combined with her knowledge of the inner workings of the sport make her role as Operations Manager integral to the success or our organization.


Tony Cowx

National Development Group

Tony has been involved in swimming since he was 6 years old. He began coaching with COBRA in 2003 following 20 years of competitive swimming. Tony has NCCP Level 2 certification and is a graduate of Brock University with a BSc in mathematics. His swimmers have won numerous Provincial and National Age Group medals. In 2008 / 09 he was awarded by OSCA as the 12 & Under female Coach of the Year. This year in 2011 / 12 will be his 9th season with COBRA.


Casey Beck

Youth Group

Casey has been teaching and swimming for over 10 years. She taught I Can Swim and swam until 2005. Casey then went on to earn a scholarship to Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she swam for four years. Over those 4 years she accomplished top 3 finishes in the PSAC conference consecutively all 4 years. Casey also coached the IUP Aquatic Club team while at school and graduate with a BSC in Sports Administration and a Minor in Business.


Jorge Neves

Junior Gold / Blue

Jorge has been involved with swimming since the age of 10 when he started competing in Portugal. He developed to become a National record holder and National Champion during his swimming career. He started his coaching career in 1988 at the Etobicoke Swim Club and in 1990; he went to York swim club where he coached until June 2000. He produced several finalists / medalists at provincial championships and helped develop swimmers that went ahead to receive swimming scholarships and others that reached levels as far as the Commonwealth games.

Jorge took a sabbatical for 9 years to spend more quality time with his wife and son. During the 2009 / 10 season, he volunteered to help Tony Cowx coach the Squad 2 group. This is his second season back and Jorge now coaches the Junior Blue and Junior Gold groups.


Ian Roopnarine

Olympic Way Gold / Blue / White

Ian joined the COBRA team in 2002 where he has since held numerous coaching positions from learn to swim to competitive to masters swimming. He has seen success at different levels of the sport. He has had many swimmers qualify for Regional, Provincial, and Age Group National championships. He believes his expertise and personality is best suited instilling fundamental swimming skills in our youngest athletes. He currently oversees our novice program and coaches the Olympic Way groups. Ian is NCCP Level 1 certified. As well as coaching, Ian is responsible for COBRA’s non-competitive programming. As COBRA’s Pre-competitive Coordinator he facilitates and schedules programming such as community rentals, adult lane swims, board of education lessons, and our successful COBRA Junior Swim Program. He is instrumental in the development of leadership programs for our swimmers, instructors & lifeguards.


Hannah Moore

Assistant Coach, Olympic Way Gold / Blue / White

After 5 years of competing for COBRA, Hannah has joined the coaching staff as an assistant coach for the Olympic Way Gold, White & Blue groups. Her passion and commitment in working with our youngest athletes is a great asset to our program. Hannah also plays an important role in our Junior Swim Program as a Supervisor.


Kim Cyr

Strength & Conditioning

Kim teaches a supportive training program for competitive sports teams and athletes. A certified Stotts Pilates instructor and a Yoga practitioner since 2000, her programs target the specific needs of these athletes.

As student and teacher of the Traditional Martial Arts for over 25 years, Kim’s classes are recognized for being disciplined and efficient in gaining results. Her range of expertise offers a supportive program structured to improve sports performance, recovery and injury prevention, through improved posture, flexibility and core muscle group strengthening.

Nathalie Worden has been COBRA’s office administrator for over 5 years and brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her position.
