COBRA Swim Club has had their swimmers represent Canada at the Olympic Games.
Stephen Clarke
Stephen Clarke competed in the butterfly, breaststroke and freestyle at the international level. He competed at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic games where he won a bronze medal as part of the 4x100m medley relay team. Four years later, at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, Clarke finished seventh in the 100m butterfly.
Rob Braknis
Rob represented COBRA and Canada at the 1996 Olympics where he finished 16th in the 100m backstroke and was a part of the twelfth place 4x100m medley relay team.
Robbie Taylor
Robbie Taylor’s first major international experience was as a member of Canada’s 1998 Commonwealth Games team. Rob was a member of Canada’s 2000 Sydney Olympic team.
Stephanie Dixon
Stephanie is possibly the top Paralympian Canada has ever produced. She joined COBRA at the age of 13 and by the age of 16 had qualified for the 2000 Sydney Paralympic Games. In Sydney, Stephanie won four gold medals and set world records in the 100m backstroke, 100m and 400m freestyle.
