COBRA’s National Swim Group led by head coach Bill O’Toole participated in the 2012 Ontario Cup swim meet on January 20th to the 22nd. The meet showcased the top swimmers in the province and was hosted by the Toronto Swim Club and held at the University of Toronto. In order to attend the event all swimmers required Senior Provincial qualifying time standards.
COBRA’s fastest 12 & under swimmers, accompanied by Coach Jorge Neves, conquered the 25th Annual Oakville Invitational. With Short Course Championship season just around the corner, it was the perfect time for these young speedsters to demonstrate all of the hard work and preparation they are putting in!
COBRA’s Olympic Way White team started 2012 off right with a fantastic showing at the Cobra Cash Challenge on January 6th, 2012. All swimmers competed in short course 50m swims with many achieving new personal bests at the meet.

T’was the last meet before Christmas and coach Jorge Neves led his dynamic Junior Gold squad to Etobicoke Olympium for the 2011 Mega City swim meet. As they did in their previous swim meets in Newmarket and London they came prepared with their racing caps on.
COBRA now has three swimmers that have been named as hopefuls for Team Ontario with the possibility of competing at the 2013 Canada Games to be held in Sherbrooke Quebec.
The Olympic Way White team has gotten off to a great start this season. Coaches Ian and Hanna have repeatedly expressed the importance of technique to all of the swimmers and their efforts have paid off. On November 19th the team attended the Tri-Star #1 Meet in Mississauga. Many of our swimmers achieved new personal best times at this meet and the coaches expressed great pride in their accomplishments.
Cobra’s National and National Development swimmers accompanied by head coach Bill O’Toole and Tony Cowx attended the 2011 Youth Cup swim meet on December 1st to the 4th. The four-day event was hosted by the North York Aquatic Club and was held at the Etobicoke Olympium.
COBRA Coaches Jorge Neves, Casey Beck and almost 50 swimmers took to the road to compete in the three-day Nothers Invitational at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre in London, Ontario. Their hard work and dedication in practice showed in the pool as almost every swimmer posted 5 or more personal best times!!
The 2011 Canada Cup is the premier Senior National swimming event for this time of year and draws athletes from all over Canada. The event was held on November 25th to the 27th at the Etobicoke Olympium Pool. This year England sent its best 18 and under swimmers to this prestigious competition to race Canada’s best.
